Cussac Lake, Haute-Vienne, Limousin Our village of Cussac, only 2km from our bed and breakfast has a lot to offer. As well as being home to an excellent international moto-cross circuit, Cussac also boasts a working mill, La Moulin de la Bregère, which is open every day during the Summer season. The village of Cussac is also famous for the "Site des Bonnes Fontaines", 3 natural springs renowned for their healing powers and where villagers go to pray for ailing friends and leave an item of clothing as an offering.

Sports & Activities

Fishing ~ Cussac, Haute-Vienne, Limousin Limousin, known as "the land of a thousand lakes" offers just about every sport and activity imaginable and the numerous lakes and rivers around the area offer some of the best fishing in the whole of Europe. Our local lakes at St Mathieu, Rochechouart and Bussiere-Galant, all less than half-hour from our B&B, have beach areas and lakeside cafes and offer pedaloes and canoeing during the Summer.

If you enjoy cycling there are hundreds of cycling routes all around the region but if you fancy something a bit different why not try the velorail, about 30 minutes from our B&B, Cussac.

There are also two 18 hole-golf courses in Limoges, which offer day passes to tourists and are open all year.

Towns and Villages

Rochechouart, Haute-Vienne, Limousin Limoges, the capital city of Limousin is a fascinating city, steeped in history with ancient buildings, quaint old streets, museums, gardens and galleries. Worth a visit is the cathedral, the butchers quarter and the recently restored train station. Modern day Limoges is home to trendy bars, shops, cinemas and restaurants.

A short drive away from our bed and breakfast is the scenic hill village of Rochechouart, built on a large meteorite and famous for its twisted church spire. It also boasts a hillside chateau now a modern art gallery open to the public.

History & Culture

Montbrun Chateau, Haute-Vienne, Limousin Follow the Richard the Lionheart Route which passes through our local village of Cussac. There are no less than 16 chateaux on the route, of which many are just a short drive from our bed and breakfast.

Historical monuments are abundant in the Haute-Vienne, Limousin, some dating as far back as prehistoric times. Whether your interest is prehistory and ancient caves, the romans, the great wars or chateaux and churches you will find plenty of places to visit around the Haute-Vienne.
