Most outdoor pursuits you can think of are available within minutes of Cussac, Haute-Vienne, home of our Bed and Breakfast in Limousin.

The Limousin is an angler's paradise. With around 11,000km of rivers and over 3,000 lakes its abundant fresh waterways are perfect for fishermen at all levels. Why pay a fortune for a fishing holiday at one lake when you can stay at our bed and breakfast in Cussac, Haute-Vienne and fish at as many lakes and/or rivers that you have time for.

Some of the finest fish in Europe can be found in Haute-Vienne, Limousin including trout, carp, pike, bream, perch, barbel and many more.

There are numerous scenic woodland, forest, lake or river walks and cycling routes nearby, most of which are well-sign-posted. Created out of a disused railway track the 13km green lane runs from Oradour sur Vayres, only 2km from our Bed and Breakfast, through the picturesque village of Champagnac la Rivere to the interesting town of Chalus.

Walkers, cyclists, roller skaters and people of reduced mobility can all enjoy this pleasant and safe site. Picnic tables have been installed along the track.

For something unique and completely different, why not try a half-day visit to the Vèlo-Rail about 20 minutes scenic drive from our B&B. Follow the meandering 'Vallee de la Dronne' on a rail-bike through fields and hills and discover beautiful old houses, chateaux and legendary sites.

On the borders of Limousin and the Dordogne, Bussiere-Galant Lake, home of the Velorail is less than a half hour away from our Bed and Breakfast.

Nearby St Junien, 23km from our bed and breakfast, has an 18 hole golf course with 9 supplementary holes, practice bunkers, a putting green and a restaurant. There are also two 18 hole golf courses just outside Limoges both on over 70 hectares of land. All of them have restaurants and are open all day, all year round. They all offer special day passes to tourists with various game and meal plans available.

Swing through the trees or high over a lake, scamper up hanging ladders or rope walls in one of the many "Parc Acrobois" or "Arbre en Arbre" outdoor adventure parks. Test your nerve on Tarzan leaps and bouncy bridges. All under the guidance of multi-lingual qualified trainers. The nearest Parc Acrobois is only 20 minutes from our Bed and Breakfast and next to the Velorail at Bussiere Galant Lake in the Dordogne.

There are also parks at the Lacs de Haute Charente on the borders of the Haute Vienne and Charente and near to Lac Vassiviere in the Creuse region of Limousin.

Our local town of Cussac boasts a world famous MotoCross circuit holding regular national and international events. The motocross also holds a spectacular 2 day event at Easter including quad and sidecar racing. Also not to be missed is the French Open National Championship in July - A spectacular Summer evening event with a huge midnight firework display as a finale.

The varied landscape and generous countryside of South West France is ideally suited to horse riding, with it's many shady paths and trails and magnificent green woodland and forests.

The quality of facilities and instructors, many multilingual, make it a perfect experience for all ages and abilities.

The two great lakes of South West France, Lac Pardoux and Lac Vassiviere, both have excellent horse-riding centres. A trot around the lake with a gallop in the water is very tempting on a hot sunny day.
